BrAdY's DoWn 50LbS
It's been 4 weeks since Brady's surgery, He has lost 54 lbs as of this morning and looking pretty good. It is amazing to me how much this surgery is going to help him. He has down sized to a whole new wardrobe. I spent the last couple of days going through all of his cloths replacing them with hand me downs from when his dad had his surgery. Thanks to Jack I don't have to go out and buy a whole bunch of new cloths for Brady to only beable to wear for a couple of months. Brady has been getting along pretty well beaing able to eat and all. I think that the biggest trial he has is just being so tired all of the time. He like to try and fit a nap in almost everyday...ha like that will ever happen with these kids around.

It will be a week tomorrow since Brady's surgery. He's doing really well. He's able to eat his whole two ounces of food and hasn't had many problems. He refuses to take any pain medication because he doesn't like the way it makes him feel and every now and then the dog or one of the kids will jump on him when he's least expecting it, other than that he is well. I just wanted to thank you for all of your support it really does mean a lot :)

This is Brady, Age 28 weighing 385 lbs. He was diagnosed as a diabetic Nov 2008. That's when he
made a decision that would change his life forever.
Nov 2009 Brady had a gastric-bypass this morning. He is doing alright considering the fact that he just had surgery. I asked him how he felt he said "ok, it just feels like I just got ran over by a Mac Truck" Well if that is what OK feels like I don't know what terrible feels like. He is expected to come home from the hospital tomorrow and he is requied "by the boss" to take a week off and stay home to recover. I hope in a year when I post his after picture you won't even beable to recognize him. As my mother-in-law says...I look over at my husband (Jack, Brady's dad who also had gastric-bypass just over 1 yr ago) and I think "who is that man in my bed?"

WhAt A sUmMeR
Wow I can't believe it's almost fall. Where did summer go. We had a very busy August getting ready for school and starting football. Braxton is playing football and loving every minute of it all. The had to pick teams for his age group in North Ogden and he was 3rd pick...wow out of that many kids I guess he's really liked. That makes me feel good at least I am doing something right. His last 2 games has been a blast he has learned how to get into the backfield pretty fast and tackled that quarterback a few times, even with the other team lining him up with two kids. out of 4 games already this year they have only lost one...Go Worriors!!!
MaKayla started soccer and she looks so cute in her purple uniform. Her team is doing great also, I almost feel bad for the other team because their team rocks. MaKayla had her 8th birthday in August and was babtized the following Saturday just in time to make it to the Okur Temple dedication. She has a best friend named Hailey that lives 2 houses down. Hailey is 2 years older then MaKayla but they get along great. They always wait for eachother during recess and I just found out they have names for boys like Hotty #1 and Hotty # 2. I don't think I ready for this she is growing up way too fast.
Shae and Ian just started preschool, it's only 2 days a week and just doesn't seem like it's enough for them because they enjoy it soo much. Everyday when the go I always ask "so what did you do today" and tell always start by telling me what they didn't do that day. LOL. They crack me up. They spend a lot of time with Grandma Briskey and they really keep her going. They go to Grandpa Hadley's house every other Friday and run him ragged. I don't think they ever stop for a minute. As soon as I get them home they are out of the house playing with the neighborhood gang. Even when I tell them they can't play. I havn't quite figured out how to keep them in the house long for them to get their chorse done, guess they are just pretty social.
Brady spent the month of September hunting Elk with my dad. When he put them in the special hunt drawing he accidenally put the Archery code. They had a lot of fun and seem some really big Elk, however did not have enough luck to get close enough most of them and the 2 that they did....well let's just say my dad is still mad at himself. Brady's work has gotten really slow, most of their employees are laid off and he's moved back into the office working on bids to find work. I am really hoping they get something soon and this econmy starts impoving sometime soon. It helps that he is working in the office, that way he can get the kids up in the morning and get them all of to where they need to be. I have had a hard time adjusting to let him take on that morning task because that has always been my job. He has really been a big help ever since I started working full time.
Me, well I thought that I would have moved back to my old area at work and be part time again but that hasn't happened. I am still haning in the air, not knowing where I'll be working next month, if it will be dayshift or swingshift. I really like working dayshift, it has been a huge adjustment to work full time and I really hate it because I never have time for myself or am able to do the things that I want to do. I really need a date night sometime soon before I go crazy. We have been doing some remodeling on our house too. We got new carpet for the stairs and the basement last week. I love having carpet on the stairs, I never relized what a difference it would make.

Working full time has really taken a toll on us. I start work at 5am, I never though after working swing shift all of those years that I would even consider waking up that early. I feel like I'm always tired.
Brady has been busy with work and scouts, he's been on a lot of scout trips lately(about everyother weekend) I know he really enjoys it and has a lot of fun. That just leaves me to pick up the slack. I don't know how single mom's with a full time job even survive. I really appriciate Brady for all that he does. He's been a lot better about helping out with the kids and around the house...now if I could just figure out how to get him to take over making dinner...
A couple of weeks ago we took a family camping trip to Lava Hot Springs, The kids had a blast. The weather was a little rainy, but that didn't seem to stop our boys from going down the river. We had a great 4th of July. Brady and MaKayla drove the grandpa's Cobra and trough out candy. He was having a blast burning out until the cop told him he didn't think he should drive like that. He made it up later when he took his frind Kerry out for a ride... they hit the freeway and was gone in a flash. Kerry's only comment was "That was awsome...that was even better than having sex."
We have been in the process of re-paining our house...so I guess it's time I get back to it.

We have have misplaced my camera, I put it in one of those places : I will put this here so that I can find it later : places, I am sure you know what I am talking about. We had a great weekend up at the Cabin, except for the fact that I rained most of the time. We were cooking shoes by the fire pit trying to keep some dry ones around. Shae and Ian got new bikes and we took them up there so they could break them in a little...trust me they were MUDDY... They had a great time playing with friends and making smores. They are ready to go again:)

Well I have accepted a job on day shift full time starting next week. I am so scared, if my life isn't crazy now it is going to get extremely crazy. . I haven't worked full time in 4 years (since before I had the twins.) It kinda came with bad timing because the kids are only out of school 1 week before I begin working full time..and I thought we were going to have a fun and playful summer. On the other hand I don't know how I would do it if the kids were not out of school, so maybe it came at a perfect time. I think this will give me a great opportunity and a change of pace which I am looking forward to. Thanks to great grandparents and Brady's cousin Aubrey we are going to work through all of the babysitting kinks as they appear.

JaDeN's MaRrIeD
I know it's been awhile, however if you notice I did this last year too, I started my blog in May, did really well for a month and then fell off the face of the earth for a few months, Spring comes and my computer gets neglected!Things have been great though, Brady's youngest brother Jaden got married, they had a wounderful wedding, and Shae and Kayla were the flower girls.
We had a great mothers day I bought both of our mom's flowers so I think that I have spend plenty of money on flowers. Last weekend we decided it would be a good time to get our garden planted, we didn't have alot of garden room, just enough for about 4 tomato plants. We had this great idea to make it bigger and add more dirt, so our little project turned in to a full days worth of work. It will be well worth it in the end:)
We are just finishing up the rest of the school year and I am soo glad that it is almost over. I am ready to have the kids home for the summer. I am saying that now and about a week after school gets our and the kids start taunting eachother I am sure I will change my mind about that.
The girls had their final dance recital, they did great and Shae even performed her dance. We had lots of family come to watch, thank you for your support!
MaKayla had her final school program "Poetry Throughout the Year" She did a really good job and new her part...if only she would slow down enough to breath so that we could understand her! MaKayla's teacher helps they do a full body trace and the kids have to draw what they look like then at the end of the program the parents have to guess which picture is theirs. The only hint I had was that they had to draw whatever they were wearing that day. Luckily I know what her cloths look like!
Braxton is doing great he is getting ready to turn 9 next month and advancing in scouts. He has worked really hard this year to complete all of his requirements plus a few electives.
And Ian yeah he is still climbing trees and anything else that looks a little adventurous.
Brady's work has slowed down alot, they have the majority of their workers laid off, hopefully not for long we are praying they pull through on a few more jobs too keep work steady. Softball season has started and we are looking farward to having fun.
Brady and I scheduled our cruise next year to the Bahama's to celebrade out 10th annivarsary. Wow 10 years!
I am still working 2 days a week (keeps me sain) and chasing kids. Hopefully well get lots of swimming in this summer at grandma's house, let me know if you want to come we'd love to get together!

I had my foot exerayed and it wansn't broken just sprained and brused. It is getting a little better I am able to beare a little wight on it. I still have to keep it elevate the majority of the time or it just swells.
Shae's surgery went well it was the coming out of the anaesthesia that was the hard part. She just cried and cried and cried and when you tried to do what she wanted she would just cry louder, she was so confused. Normally you can compromise with her but this time there wasn't any compromising going on. She is feeling pretty good, it is the keeping her down that it the hard part. She just wants to run and play and ride her bike and go everywhere the other kids are going. She thinks we are mean because she wants to eat whatever she wants....like her favorite....Chips. How do you make a 4 year old understand that if your throat hurts a little and then you eat hart things it is only going irritate your throat and make it feel worse?
Kayla just came to tattle and it looks like I done updating...Shae into some chips....

I fEeL lIkE sUcH aN iDiOt!
So I was at work, it's about 10:30 pm, I just got out of a 2 hour meeting and I am walking down the stairs apparently not paying attention. I thought that I was at the bottom of the landing but I had one more stair before the bottom landing so when my foot didn't land right I rolled my ankle and I fell. 2 of my teammates were walking right behind me. It hurt really bad and they kept asking are you OK. Well yeah I thought after the pain goes away I'll be find...but I just felt like a total idiot. I wasn't going to even report the incident until I realized that my ankle was getting really fat. I then decided I had to go tell my manager what an idiot I was because I didn't know how to walk down the stairs. I don't think it is broken but I have decided to go to the doctor so AFLAC will at least pay me...I wish someone was video taping me so I could at least see how funny I looked.

SuRgErY fRiDaY :(
Beginning in March Shae had a run on of fevers and not feeling well for about two weeks...we seen two doctors with no results. The first one thought she just had virus, the second figured the only thing might be an infection in her tonsils. We were able to convince the second Dr. to put her on an antibiotic. This at least helped the infection and fevers go away to get her feeling better. I took her to a ENT specialist last week and he decided that her tonsils were really big, causing many problems and needed to be removed. Long storey short, Shae is having surgery Friday. Recovery time should only be 5-7 days...so that is a good thing. It is amazing how little kids back bounce back so fast:)

We hope all of you had a wounderful Easter. I know we did.

Saturday I began the morning by taking 5 kids to an Easter egg hunt by myself (Brady gave me the "Oh I have to work" excuse)...it really turned out ok, the kids did what they were told to do and nobody got lost. They all got some candy and were happy. My mom showed up after it was all over with. I told her "don't be late, if your late don't bother coming because you'll miss the whole thing" sure enough she was late!
We had a few (4) cousins come over on Saturday night so their parents could go to Ambrie's Birthday party at Teasers, not my idea of fun for a party but hey hope they had fun anyways...
We even made sure we fed our visitors candy for breakfast...won't their mommy be so proud of us.
Guess we didn't do so well with Fast Sunday...bad idea to have it on Easter Sunday...

My oh My how time fly's when your busy and havin' fun...or is that just busy I can't remeber it just went by way to fast.
Braxton has been involved a lot of wrestling lately, practice twice a week and wresting meets every Saturday. Brady and Grandpa Jack took him all of the way up to Boise, Id this last weekend while the other kids and I stayed home. We went to Heather's Bridal Shower (My soon to be sister-in-law) , the girls had fun handing all of her presents to her and was just as excited as she was to see what was coming next. Then we decided to take a trip to dinner then to the park to waste a little time. Ian was of course a monkey. He crossed the monkey bars like 3 times...what 4 year old does that??? oh wait his name is Ian AKA Little Harold. We then headed to the movies to see HOTEL FOR DOGS. It turned out pretty cute. Shae decided to sleep through the whole thing, it was probably a good thing that way I was able to see the whole show. She isn't much of a TV person, she gets board easily.
We here we go to start off another week of fun.....
