BrAdY's DoWn 50LbS

It's been 4 weeks since Brady's surgery, He has lost 54 lbs as of this morning and looking pretty good. It is amazing to me how much this surgery is going to help him. He has down sized to a whole new wardrobe. I spent the last couple of days going through all of his cloths replacing them with hand me downs from when his dad had his surgery. Thanks to Jack I don't have to go out and buy a whole bunch of new cloths for Brady to only beable to wear for a couple of months. Brady has been getting along pretty well beaing able to eat and all. I think that the biggest trial he has is just being so tired all of the time. He like to try and fit a nap in almost everyday...ha like that will ever happen with these kids around.

ThAnKyOu FoR aLl Of YoUr CoNcErNs

It will be a week tomorrow since Brady's surgery. He's doing really well. He's able to eat his whole two ounces of food and hasn't had many problems. He refuses to take any pain medication because he doesn't like the way it makes him feel and every now and then the dog or one of the kids will jump on him when he's least expecting it, other than that he is well. I just wanted to thank you for all of your support it really does mean a lot :)

TaKe OnE lAsT LoOk At ThE bIg BrAdY

This is Brady, Age 28 weighing 385 lbs. He was diagnosed as a diabetic Nov 2008. That's when he made a decision that would change his life forever.
Nov 2009 Brady had a gastric-bypass this morning. He is doing alright considering the fact that he just had surgery. I asked him how he felt he said "ok, it just feels like I just got ran over by a Mac Truck" Well if that is what OK feels like I don't know what terrible feels like. He is expected to come home from the hospital tomorrow and he is requied "by the boss" to take a week off and stay home to recover. I hope in a year when I post his after picture you won't even beable to recognize him. As my mother-in-law says...I look over at my husband (Jack, Brady's dad who also had gastric-bypass just over 1 yr ago) and I think "who is that man in my bed?"

WhAt A sUmMeR

Wow I can't believe it's almost fall. Where did summer go. We had a very busy August getting ready for school and starting football. Braxton is playing football and loving every minute of it all. The had to pick teams for his age group in North Ogden and he was 3rd pick...wow out of that many kids I guess he's really liked. That makes me feel good at least I am doing something right. His last 2 games has been a blast he has learned how to get into the backfield pretty fast and tackled that quarterback a few times, even with the other team lining him up with two kids. out of 4 games already this year they have only lost one...Go Worriors!!!

MaKayla started soccer and she looks so cute in her purple uniform. Her team is doing great also, I almost feel bad for the other team because their team rocks. MaKayla had her 8th birthday in August and was babtized the following Saturday just in time to make it to the Okur Temple dedication. She has a best friend named Hailey that lives 2 houses down. Hailey is 2 years older then MaKayla but they get along great. They always wait for eachother during recess and I just found out they have names for boys like Hotty #1 and Hotty # 2. I don't think I ready for this she is growing up way too fast.

Shae and Ian just started preschool, it's only 2 days a week and just doesn't seem like it's enough for them because they enjoy it soo much. Everyday when the go I always ask "so what did you do today" and tell always start by telling me what they didn't do that day. LOL. They crack me up. They spend a lot of time with Grandma Briskey and they really keep her going. They go to Grandpa Hadley's house every other Friday and run him ragged. I don't think they ever stop for a minute. As soon as I get them home they are out of the house playing with the neighborhood gang. Even when I tell them they can't play. I havn't quite figured out how to keep them in the house long for them to get their chorse done, guess they are just pretty social.

Brady spent the month of September hunting Elk with my dad. When he put them in the special hunt drawing he accidenally put the Archery code. They had a lot of fun and seem some really big Elk, however did not have enough luck to get close enough most of them and the 2 that they did....well let's just say my dad is still mad at himself. Brady's work has gotten really slow, most of their employees are laid off and he's moved back into the office working on bids to find work. I am really hoping they get something soon and this econmy starts impoving sometime soon. It helps that he is working in the office, that way he can get the kids up in the morning and get them all of to where they need to be. I have had a hard time adjusting to let him take on that morning task because that has always been my job. He has really been a big help ever since I started working full time.

Me, well I thought that I would have moved back to my old area at work and be part time again but that hasn't happened. I am still haning in the air, not knowing where I'll be working next month, if it will be dayshift or swingshift. I really like working dayshift, it has been a huge adjustment to work full time and I really hate it because I never have time for myself or am able to do the things that I want to do. I really need a date night sometime soon before I go crazy. We have been doing some remodeling on our house too. We got new carpet for the stairs and the basement last week. I love having carpet on the stairs, I never relized what a difference it would make.

SuMmEr BuSsInEsS

Working full time has really taken a toll on us. I start work at 5am, I never though after working swing shift all of those years that I would even consider waking up that early. I feel like I'm always tired.

Brady has been busy with work and scouts, he's been on a lot of scout trips lately(about everyother weekend) I know he really enjoys it and has a lot of fun. That just leaves me to pick up the slack. I don't know how single mom's with a full time job even survive. I really appriciate Brady for all that he does. He's been a lot better about helping out with the kids and around the house...now if I could just figure out how to get him to take over making dinner...

A couple of weeks ago we took a family camping trip to Lava Hot Springs, The kids had a blast. The weather was a little rainy, but that didn't seem to stop our boys from going down the river. We had a great 4th of July. Brady and MaKayla drove the grandpa's Cobra and trough out candy. He was having a blast burning out until the cop told him he didn't think he should drive like that. He made it up later when he took his frind Kerry out for a ride... they hit the freeway and was gone in a flash. Kerry's only comment was "That was awsome...that was even better than having sex."

We have been in the process of re-paining our house...so I guess it's time I get back to it.

MoMoRiAl WeEkEnD

We have have misplaced my camera, I put it in one of those places : I will put this here so that I can find it later : places, I am sure you know what I am talking about. We had a great weekend up at the Cabin, except for the fact that I rained most of the time. We were cooking shoes by the fire pit trying to keep some dry ones around. Shae and Ian got new bikes and we took them up there so they could break them in a little...trust me they were MUDDY... They had a great time playing with friends and making smores. They are ready to go again:)
